Pagerank fall down - My experience     StumbleUpon Toolbar

I have noticed many a times that Google keep on updating pagerank of websites. Your website or blog pagerank may fall down in such update process. I have experienced this decrease in this page rank. Now Google has reduced pagerank of many popular sites :

Washingtonpost.com - from 7 to 5

Statcounter.com - from 10 to 8 (and 6 in some other Google data centers)

MasterNewMedia.org - from 7 to 6 (and 4 in some other Google data centers)

Problogger.net - from 7 to 4

Blogherald.com - from 6 to 4 is some Google data centers.

Pagerank sometime differs from server to server. Some of the Google servers displays high pagerank at the same time some show low PageRank. This take time update pagerank data in each server. But some time it shows sudden fall in PageRank in all Google servers. I noticed “I was changing my blog template on regular basis”. I suppose this disturbe the Google crawler to identity the page he visited last. Google treat your sudden change in layout of page as a new page. Therefore, he reduce the pagerank. I suggest not to change your template much, stick to one. It tool 2-3 months to get my page rank back. I continued my blogging on Blog Opinion, now I got my pagerank back.

Many blogger explains that this is because of displaying TLA (Text link ads) on their pages. Well I don’t agree, Google won’t going reduce pageranks of those blogs who are displaying TLA on there blog. There may be some problem or change with Google PagrRank algorithm.

As per my research on PageRank, I done some observation on few pages of forum. I started a topic on a SEO forum “How to get a high page rank”. After few days I noticed that the pagerank of that particular topic was 4. I again visited the same topic after few months, PageRank reduced to 2. I am really astonished to see sudden fall in pagerank of popular sites. ” Google What are you doing on servers ” :) :(

I consulted Webmaster experts on Google Webmaster Group (Located at Google group). They told me that there is nothing to worry about pagerank you will going to get it back, plus it will not effect ranking of your pages on Google search results.

I hope all those sites who have lots their Pagerank will get it back soon.
