“We are what we eat”. Our mental state, physical state is related to what we eat, how we digest and how balanced the diet is.
Years back, I used a nutrition software to understand my best daily diet plan. It took me a couple of days to understand the soft-ware and started feeding my daily diet. I started getting the useful feedback. I realized I needed to balance my diet. The diet analysis of a few days was enough to help me better balance my diet. It sharpened my food consciousness, repeat consciousness.
It built up better controls & instincts regarding my choice of foods. I don’t know how much I gained from the effort while using the software, but I continue to gain from the consciousness & natural instincts for food. I am sure it was a time well spent and has benifited me in many ways.
Among the thousand of free membership sites, I came across myfitnesspal.com, a wonderfull and valuable site. I signed up and have started using the software. I hope they continue to improve and make it a true online asset. I have yet to find out how they make money for providing this service.
Who can benifit : Persons suffering from food allergies (including myself), moms of newly borns, obese - women and possibly men needing to control weight & waste line.

After signing up, you enter your profile, Activity & life style, Your weight loss objectives.
You can enter your food item and calorie values also, I have not used this feature yet. I use my judgment for selecting a food item that is close match for food actually taken.
Why I like myfitnesspal.com: It is simple to use and easy to enter data
The first day of using myfitnesspal. First day, I was at home whole day, it indicated I was taking more carbos & less protein. For me it is a helpful information.
Second day, I walked 2.5 KMs and added in the exercise . Hope I will continue with this.
Doing exercise daily will allow you more calories. It allowed me more carbos. So I added choco cookies for dinner. The estimate a little plus on corbos and short on proein, so I replaced Choco cookies with almond cookies.
On third day I had some gastric problem. Unable to remember & fix the cause, I opened my desktop and I looked into the diet of the previous day.
Voila, I got it & fixed it. The gastric condition was caused by salted branded potato chips I ate with the morning tea at 4.30 AM. I cannot be dead sure, but this gives me a reason to watch on the quantity of potato chips.
This was my second lesson in 5 days.
