Understanding Cellphones, technology and the messaging networks

August 30th, 2007 · No Comments

The growth & impact of cell phones worldwide and their applications in new areas is an unparalleled phenomenon in many segments of  human history. And industry experts are calling it just the beginning.

Back in 1947, Cell phones set out as an idea for a mobile phone that was used from a car, within a given range.
The name is derived from the word cellular combined with the often used word, phone. Whole technology of carrying the message is based on cells of signal, spread over a vast territoty, sending signals from one cell to the other. Each cell has a transmitter that assures the mobile connectivity extending the great range into almost worldwide range of mobile phones. These transmitters are placed to form a network with absolutely no uncovered spaces.

More areas are being  covered including mountain areas in some locations, but industrialized and populated locations all have mobile phone operators and coverage.
With the arrival of 3G, cell phones are now flooded with many new features. From watching TV to playing games, taking pictures and making movies, from real music to color display, they have it all. Some phones even have Windows from mobile on them, just like PCs. Others can actually compete with game consoles like Nintendo because they are kind of a miniature game console themselves.

So, in the near future the cell phone might offer us more surprises.
