The whys of success and failure in home and small business

December 10th, 2007 · No Comments

Most of the people that undertake a home business achieve limited success or get frustrated and abandon.  There are many reasons, but the most common reason is that most people get frustrated sooner and do not allow themselves enough
time to succeed.

In the early stage, one of the most difficult things about
developing a new home based business is dealing with the right associates, choosing the right product/service and the right promotional resources. Inspite of the best efforts, it can alternate betwwen successes and temporary setbacks.  I have yet to meet someone who has not experienced such situations in his home business project. Once
you have done the research and decided on a particular home based
business opportunity, you really need to focus on persistence and
realize that any real business will not just automatically become
successful in a matter of days or weeks. You should be prepared to
give it your best sustained effort for at least 6 to 12 months in
order to begin to build a solid business base and begin to see
some good income.

When working at home a person can, at times, experience a feeling
of isolation which is probably brought on by the lack of
interaction of a work force environment.

For example, if you are just starting out and you have 10 customers/clients and you happen to lose 2 …that’s a 20% drop! Or one month your profits are $5000 and next month you may be touching just below $2000. However, if you look at many channels for growth, you will be able to debelop alternative plans for growth into more  customers and higher profits.
