Been in blogging for a year. Now that I am out of beta phase, I thought of preparing a blue print for year 2008 and sharing with you.
Yes, the first year 2007,  was sharpening writing skills, writing products & services reviews. Product reviews are remain my favorite with occasional rantings on business trends and others.
In year 2007, all posts were text posts and with one Video post  that was done while testing the Video plugin. Of course, phototgraphs & images were inserted in a few posts, with images related to the product being written about. 2008 will see more video blogs and podcasting will be explored.

Now if you are planning to blog or  do consider blogging, consider the following type of contents. Video & Audio content is gaining popularity with Podcasting in hot pursuit.
 Straight texts   -  that still remains my favorite and 2008 will see more original content, RSS feed content and more..
 Photoblog - Video & image content for cellphones
 Videoblog       - hope to write posts with videos created by me or embedding code for video blogs
 Audioblog - Will be recording and posting MP3 files on hot topics..
 Blog Directories   - will be using this in blog directories & advertising blogs
Advertising Blogs  - Yet to formulate what they will be like

Problems & Solutions Blogs - These blogs will have keyword clouds, problem keywords ending with -prb and solutions keywords ending with -sol. So if you define a problem and use some keywords with ‘-prb’   suffix, you will search for solutions using the same keyword with a -sol suffix.

With plans to undertake blogging full time in 2008, will also be venturing into company bloggin adding at least 2-5 companies to blog for.

 Collaborative or collective blog - on specific topics

 Directory blog - collection of numerous web sites.

 Business blog - by entrepreneurs & corporate employees to promote  business or discuss work realated issues.

 Non-Persona blog - non-human being or objects (such as dogs).

 Spam blogs - affiliated websites; also known as ’splogs’.

Today, millions of blogs (don’t have the exact count yet)  can be found in the Internet. This figure is continuously growing, as the availability of various blog software, tools, and other applications make it easier for just about anyone to update or maintain the blog (even those with little or no technical background). Because of this trend, bloggers can now be categorized into 4 main types:

 Personal bloggers - discussing topics one feels strongly about.  
 Business bloggers - promoting products and services.
 Organizational bloggers - communicationing in an organization or a community.
 Professional bloggers - getting hired or paid to do blogging.
 Problogging (professional blogging) refers to blogging for a profit. Probloggers (professional bloggers) are people who make money from blogging (as an individual blog publisher or a hired blogger).

Be patient - Problogging calls for  a lot of time and effors & a long-term vision.
Know your audience- Targeting a specific audience or group is a key to building a readership.
Be an expert - Focus on a specific niche topic and blog about your topic in details that readers are looking for
Diversify - Experiment with various advertising and/or affiliate programs that enable you to make money online in addition to blogging.
