Yesterday:
The wheel of life has always moved to create value chains, improving on value chains to create new products & services. The first significant value chain was created between the man & dog. This value chain simplified the way man & dog hunted for food. Dog had the advantage of speed & smell, man had the advantage of striking the hunt & carrying it to safer place for food. This value chain saved man time & generate more food than he needed. This helped man use his free time for discovering better value chains. And that journey continues in the form of product demand from customers and industry responding to create the products. Today the speed of Dog does not have the same value, while the smell value is used by police & military worldwide.

New value chains developed into agriculture, agro-processing, trade and became the seeding ground of many new innovations & competitions that created the history we know.
As agriculture produced surplus commodities, trade routes were found worldwide & trade flourished in spices, silk & textiles.
Today:
So this value chain continues today as :

Customer Demand
Products which are produced by a manufactring
Process that consists of
Operations that produce the
Finished products that are sold by
Marketing and distributed to
Customers..

This new value chain developed into industry the seeding ground of many achievements in science, technology & a competitive world of many school of thoughts.

As new value chains developed, old value chains were challenged resulting in conflicts. So change management becomes very important as new value chains replace old value chains.

Tomorrow:..

The information age is redefining everything.Old value chains are in a state of continuous transition. This is an opportunity for every individual, every industry & nation. This is just the beginning and will need development of efficient education system at all levels. The efficient education system that we create in the coming years will create the new value chains of tomorrow, hopefully reducing conflicts, and a more open & transparent democratic world. The modern educational systems will need dedicated efforts for years to create content using ICT resources that leverage internet & communication technology(ICT) to deliver content while continuously monitoring the progress of the students.

The new value chains are again helping us achieve efficiency to allow us create new value chains, new products, technologies for greener cities, any where any time education, work & telecommuting job opportunities.
